Very grand and spectacular, wasn't expecting that all lol. Feels like a fitting end to a contest :)
That being said, I expected a grand drop at 1:05 and I'm kinda dissapointed to find out it built up to another calm break. The instrumentation is SO GOOD which makes me SO SAD there is no drop at all.

Okay yea this is actually pretty dope ngl. Very spacey racey, good capture of the theme. Pretty cool lead. The transition at 2:14 is not great. The melody playing in the reese from that point after is hard to follow because of it's movement. I do think it drags on a little too long with the same stuff near the end. Also where outtro ;-;

I love the intensity and emotional impact of this one. It's definitely quite too slow-paced for the racing theme tho imo. I love the piano and the airy guitar. I also think that the end of the main part drags a bit too long imo and the outtro doesn't get announced properly

Skyler, you are the love of my life. I hope you know that. Walter junior, you're my big man. There are... there are going to be some things, things you'll come to learn about me in the next few days. I just want you to know that, no matter how it may look, I only had you in my heart. Goodbye.

Absolutely in love with this ethereal/trippy vibe. I like how the singing has unexpectedly low intervals (like at the em-brace part where it goes a small second interval downwards or maybe I'm not hearing that correctly). Lovely lyrics! They feel very human and poetic. Like most of us here, I got here via the level, because I think the level has one of the biggest personality of recent times. But that's also complimentary to the fact that this track has so much of it too! Great job, really food for thought but at the same time also something I could fall asleep too because of the spaceyness of the lap steel.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate all the feedback :)

This goes hella hard, this entire round has been the most generally good imo

I love the deep bass and how the track progresses with the percussion slowly fading in over time. It's a shame that the variation kinda stops there though. Like other people said, great usage of the art, it gives that underwater uneasiness to it. The transition at 2:50 is incredibly sudden tho, it actually sounds like a fault on a cd that you overplayed and skips a certain section because of it.

SepticDolphin responds:

Thank you for your feedback :) Good points, although both of them were stylistic decisions. In the image, there is that super creepy red part at the bottom that doesn't fade into the rest of the image. It really sticks out because of that disconnection, which looks super cool in my opinion. I wanted to symbolize that musically with that sudden creepy changeup at the end. As for the repetitiveness, i just wanted to make the song a bit more ambient to create a coherent and strong atmosphere, but i understand that not everyone likes that. Thank you for taking the time to listen and give feedback, i really appreciate it :)

Yo! I love how much you improved from last year. I like the cinematic elements. The vocals with all the vocoding works beautiful thematically. Brass stabs are sick. I would have loved to see some more variation in the lyrics tho. Good work with the sfx!

satanicpotatoe responds:

Thanks for your feedback! I'm also glad you liked the track.

Yes! This is really beautiful. I can definitely hear your style shine through this. You really improved in comparison to last year. It's quite repetitive unfortunately, but it's not the biggest issue cus you nailed the art-music relation.

Unlike others, I can definitely feel the connection between the art and the track! I absolutely love the quiet part in the middle but from that point it kinda dips down in quality unfortunately. I get the dissonance contextually and I fw it. You just have to make sure your mix is less sharp, because there are some nasty frequencies here and there. Good job on making the track sound big! It's really full. Good effort.

I think it fits the art quite well, but the directionlessness is a big appearent con here. It sounds like it tries to be some barista-esque music but there's too much going on in the background to get a grip on it.
